The Minimum Wage Ordinance: Are you ready for the new challenge
The Minimum Wage Ordinance (“MWO”) had come into force on 1st May 2011. The MWO is expected to affect over 370,000 employees in Hong Kong and their employers. The MWO does not appear to be a very complex piece of legislation. However, the application of various key provisions of the MWO is not easy to comprehend. Therefore, we would like to invite you to attend a seminar so that we may guide you through the MWO and give you some practical “tips” for dealing with the new challenges posed by the MWO!
Highlights of the Seminar:
- Application of the MWO
- Employers’ obligations and Employees’ entitlements
- Calculation of Minimum Wage (problems with “Lunch Break”, “Rest Day”, “Overtime Work”, “Travelling Time”, “Standby”, “On Call”, “Business Trip” etc.)
- Special arrangements for “student interns”, ‘work experience students” and “employees with disability”
- Clarification of contract terms
- Practical strategies
